Case Studies Here are two practical example of where my site surveys and new specifications have saved clients' time, further trouble and resulted in long-lasting solutions. Case Study A - West Country A village Trust that supported and ran a community outdoor swimming pool asked a well-known local swimming pool company to repair cracks and leaks in the walls and floors. They installed a liner lock and would have installed a 0.75 pre-measured liner. However this pool is besides a river that overflows the swimming pool a number of times in a bad winter. This could have pulled out and destroyed such a liner. With a specialist contractor working for the client, I devised a new specification, this gave a mixture of elastomeric flexible membranes for the cracks, waterproof renders and screeds and provided new water based epoxy coatings to offer an easy, clean finish.
Case Study B - South-West London Another well-known swimming pool company fitted a liner into a mosaic-lined private health club swimming pool with cracks. Ground water got behind the liner, causing ripples and deflection in the material. I supplied a new solution to cure the problems. By crack injection and installing flexible membranes on the crack lines, a waterproof pool with attractive modern mosaics was restored. |
